About Us

OVERVIEW

Matthew and Carmel lead and own Kimberley Safari Tours, a family run business. We are small, and professional. Matthew and Carmel started Kimberley Safari Tours’in 2014 and now run tours all over Western Australia through Kimberley Safari Tours.

Kimberley Safari Tours go to the best places, including those in the more remote locations often only accessible by 4WD vehicles and as a result are often missed by other tour companies.

Our Mission

To share our love for the Kimberley through the provision
of high quality small group comfortable camping tours,
predominantly Kimberley Tours, at an affordable price for
active travellers of all ages.

Our Values

All people are created as equals and are treated with
respect and honour. The land and its creatures have
been created for humanity to care for and cherish. We
only take photographs, and create memories whilst
leaving no trace of our presence. We value fun, culture
and doing things well.

Our Certifications

WA Safari Tours is accredited under the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program (ATAP), which ensures service and business procedures are of an exceptionally high standard.

We are Members of the Tourism Council of WA and of the North West Tourist Association.  We hold a food business licence, and a commercial operator’s licence with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions. We have all the necessary approvals with the WA Department of Transport and all our vehicles have regular safetyinspections. We are registered as an approved tourism operator with the Wunambal  Gaambera  Aboriginal Corporation.  All WA Safari Tour leaders have remote / senior first aid certificates.

Meet The Team

Other Team Members

Bill is a qualified Chef who works off-shore. When his roster permits he joins us on our tours and prepares fantastic meals.

Lou works most of the year in a local Indigenous School. She has wealth of knowledge about indigenous culture. We welcome her in 2020 as a helper.

Elise & Tom (two of our children) are university students and have been fantastic Kimberley Safari Tours helpers for many years. Don’t be offended if they turn down the offers to meet your younger relatives of the opposite sex.

Chris has been assisting on Kimberley Safari Tours since 2017.  During the northern wet season, he’s busy in the southwest of the state with his other passion, tending his bees and harvesting the delicious honey that KST are pleased to be able to provide to you during your Kimberley experience. He has a wealth of knowledge about local flora and fauna. After sunset, whilst in the Kimberley, his favourite past time is scanning the sky for meteors and other heavenly events.
